tdc5242 — Be shady or shadowy

I did not have to go far for this one. The shadow from a bottle on my shelf was being cast onto the green accent wall in my room, and I thought it looked kind of cool — like a ghost just hanging out in the corner. Something about the way the light hit it made it look way more dramatic than it actually was. Shadows turn boring objects into something else entirely.

tdc5204 — International Plant Appreciation Day

This is my monstera, and honestly, it deserves its own holiday. It has been growing like crazy lately — new leaves every couple of weeks. I put it near the window so it gets enough light and it just keeps going. There is one dried leaf near the bottom which I keep meaning to cut off, but somehow it feels wrong to do so. Plants are easy to overlook, but when you actually stop and look at them, they are doing a lot.

tdc5246 — Monster art

I used a filter app to turn a selfie into something a lot less human. The result was this dark fuzzy figure with hollow white eyes staring back — which I think works perfectly for monster art. It is unsettling in a way that feels more psychological than gory, which I liked more than drawing something with claws and teeth. Sometimes the scariest monsters are the ones that almost look like a person.
